Phase:2 Civil service mains examination (Desscriptive types)
Phase:3 personality test ( interview)
▪ The mains examination constitutes the 2nd phase of civil service exam only ofter successfully qualifying in the prelims exam would the candidates be allowed to write the IAS mains

Paper 1- Essay (can be written in the medium of the candidates choice) 250 Mark's
Paper 2- General studies-1( Indian Heritage &culture, history & geography of the world) 250 marks
Paper 3-General studies- 2 (Governace, polity social justice &international) 250 marks
Paper 4-General studies-3 Technologyeconomic development biodiversity, security & disaster management) 250 marks
Paper 5- General studies- 4 Ethics integrity &aptitude
Paper 6- optional-paper-1 choice of candidates 250
Paper 7-optional-paper-2 choice of candidates 250
